Countdown Fellowship Program 2024


  • A one-year fellowship program aimed at strengthening analytical skills of African researchers in monitoring reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCH&A).
  • Provides fellows with opportunities to:
    • Develop expertise in data analysis, scientific writing, research governance, and policy analysis.
    • Participate in short courses and workshops.
    • Collaborate with global and regional Countdown partners on research projects.
    • Contribute to country-level activities and reporting.


  • Open to early-career researchers from African countries.
  • Applicants must have:
    • A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, demography, statistics).
    • Strong research skills and experience.
    • Demonstrated commitment to improving RMNCH&A in their country.


  • Competitive stipend and travel allowance.
